Heat Pump Repair & Installation in Whitby & Durham Region

Durham Heat Pump Installation & Repair

Whether you're adding cooling to a home that only has a furnace, replacing an aging system, or dealing with a heat pump that's stopped working properly, Walchuk Heating & Cooling installs, repairs, and services heat pumps across Whitby and Durham Region, with two Whitby locations and licensed, insured technicians.

Heat Pump Repair

The problem: Weak or uneven heating and cooling, ice buildup on the outdoor unit, the system running constantly without reaching the set temperature, and unusual noises are the most common reasons homeowners call us about a heat pump.

The fix: Our technicians diagnose the actual cause before recommending anything, whether that means a straightforward repair or an honest conversation about whether replacement makes more sense for an older unit.

Heat Pump Installation

The problem: An aging heating and cooling system that's costing more to run every year, or a home that's never had proper cooling installed, are common reasons homeowners start looking into a heat pump.

The fix: We install ducted heat pumps for homes with existing ductwork, sized properly for your home rather than guessed at. Every installation is backed by our one-year workmanship guarantee and 100% satisfaction guarantee, and our technicians are licensed (TSSA #000229172, HRAI #114449) and fully insured (WSIB #5318422).

No Ductwork? Ask About Ductless

If your home doesn't have ducts, or you only need to condition one or two rooms, a ductless mini-split may be the better option. See our full guide to ductless mini-split heat pumps for how single- and multi-zone systems work.

Is a Heat Pump Right for Your Home?

Heat pumps handle both heating and cooling, and Ontario's rebate programs have made the upfront cost more manageable for a lot of homeowners. For a full breakdown of how they perform in an Ontario winter and which 2026 rebate programs you may qualify for, see our complete heat pump guide.

Financing

We offer lease-to-own financing on new heat pump installations. See our lease-to-own breakdown for how it works.
